Boba’s Fast Migration from a Custom OP Stack to Alchemy

Boba’s OP Stack was heavily customized, with deep forks layered on top of core modules. We partnered closely with Enya Labs to dig into every piece of custom behavior so we could fully understand how their system worked end to end. Over roughly three weeks of focused engineering work and 10+ hours of direct collaboration, we co-developed a migration plan, with us leading execution from testnet dry runs to state validation and mainnet cutover. The result was a seamless migration completed in under one hour, with no major disruptions.

Beyond the migration itself, we also worked with Enya to identify areas where the fork could be slimmed down, making future upgrades easier as the stack continues to evolve. Top teams often introduce deep customizations, and this migration highlights how Enya Labs trusted our team not just to deliver, but to be a true partner that can work with complex forks and help partners maintain flexibility without sacrificing performance.

A Strong Foundation for Builders

In June 2025, Enya Labs migrated Boba’s Sepolia testnet to our rollup infrastructure, followed by mainnet on June 26. Both transitions happened without major disruptions, validating the decision to build with Alchemy.
