What is Algorand?
Algorand is a layer 1 blockchain that finalizes transactions in a few seconds without forks, secured by a Pure Proof-of-Stake protocol where every ALGO holder can participate in consensus. The chain runs the AVM and supports TEAL and PyTeal smart contracts, native Algorand Standard Assets, atomic multi-asset transfers, and state proofs for cross-chain verification.
