What is Mento?
Mento is a multi-currency stablecoin protocol on Celo where users swap between 15 fiat-pegged stablecoins — including USDm, EURm, GBPm, KESm, and NGNm — at Chainlink-quoted FX rates through Fixed-Price Market Maker pools. USDm and EURm are backed by an over-collateralized Mento Reserve held at roughly 3:1, while local-currency stables like GBPm are issued through CDPs. The protocol processed about $19B in trading volume in 2025.
