Near Protocol is a blockchain network at layer 1. It provides a platform for developers to create decentralized applications (dapps). Near Protocol is both faster and less expensive than Ethereum. More importantly, it is expected to be faster than some of the other major competitors. Near is expected to be able to process up to 100,000 transactions per second once fully implemented (TPS).
