What is USDT0?
USDT0 is Tether's official omnichain expansion of USDT, built on LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. The protocol locks USDT in an OFT Adapter on Ethereum mainnet and mints 1:1-backed equivalents on 15+ destination chains, eliminating the fragmented liquidity and security risks of traditional bridge wrappers. Beyond USDT0 itself, the network also offers XAUt0 (Tether Gold) across 10+ chains, and connects existing native USDT deployments via the Legacy Mesh. Cross-chain transfers are validated by decentralized oracles and relayers, settled in seconds, and redeemable on any supported chain by burning the wrapped token to unlock the original asset.
