What is MultiversX?
MultiversX, formerly known as Elrond, is a Layer 1 blockchain with adaptive state sharding and Secure Proof of Stake consensus. Smart contracts run in a WASM virtual machine and are typically written in Rust using the SpaceVM framework. EGLD is the native asset used for fees, staking, and governance, and the xPortal wallet is the main consumer entry point to the network.
